Israel’s New Goverment & The Annexation Puzzle
After three elections and seventeen months of political deadlock, it was a relief for most Israelis when Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and rival Benny Gantz finally agreed on a deal to form a unity government. The political stalemate was actually broken by the coronavirus crisis, when Netanyahu took firm command of the nation’s battle against an “unseen enemy” and even counseled other national leaders on how to deal with the global health menace. Polls instantly gave him a decisive boost in the event of a looming fourth election, convincing Gantz to break away from his most anti-Bibi partners and team up with Netanyahu.

In this month’s magazine, you will meet some of the children who perished in the Holocaust and read about our major effort to tell their stories. Togetehr with Yad Vashem we are building an exhibit to tell the stories of the 1.5 million children who died in the Holocaust. You’ll also read about our partnership with the Jewish Agency and OFEK (an Israeli government sponsored organization) to hold seminars around the world for Jews to encourage them to come home to Israel.
