Yom HaZikaron – Israeli Memorial Day

Today is Yom HaZikaron, Israel’s Memorial Day for fallen soldiers and terror victims. On this day, Israelis commemorate their brave soldiers who lost their lives while protecting the nation, as well as those who were victims of acts of terror. Israelis across the country stop all activities and stand for two minutes of silent reflection as a nationwide siren sounds. Then as the day comes to an end at sunset, Israelis move quickly into celebrating Yom Ha’Atzmaut, their Independence Day marking the rebirth of the Jewish nation in 1948. This evening will launch their 75th anniversary celebrations.

Celebrate the miracle of Israel’s 75th anniversary by joining at one or both of gala celebration events.
