The Beginning and the End (Week 53)

This week we reach the end of the Bible and can, therefore, better understand the beginning! The book of Revelation climaxes with what God had intended in Genesis but lost—fellowship with mankind. The Bible tells this amazing story of paradise lost and man’s need for redemption. It ends with the good news that God—the Alpha and Omega, the Beginning and the End—could now tabernacle with redeemed mankind.

As we journeyed through this story, we learned about the character of God and how He interacted with man. We were reminded of His faithfulness and His unbelievable love for His fallen people. And we watched this amazing plan to redeem mankind be carried out.

I trust that after our year-long walk through the Bible you agree with me that the Bible is the most exciting book on the planet! Our Bible is made up of 66 books, written by 40 different authors, over a period of almost 1,500 years—yet it tells a cohesive story about a God who saw the end from the beginning.

He knew mankind would fall into sin and fail Him, but He had a plan even before He created man—a plan to redeem him through Christ Jesus and adopt man into His family. The book ends with the joyous announcement that all was complete and God was now dwelling with His people.

If you made this journey with me through the Bible, please let me know what it did for you—what you learned and how it impacted your life.
