ICEJ USA Development Coordinator
Shannon Harmeling

Shannon’s professional journey has been rich and varied. After serving in the Navy, she entered the telecommunications field and earned her associate degree in IT. Her compassionate heart led her next into caregiving and nursing studies, caring for others in practical and meaningful ways. Following the events of October 7, Shannon felt a divine calling to ministry, joining the media team at her home church in Fort Lauderdale, FL. There, she saw firsthand how faith and media could work together to share God’s message of hope.
Now at the ICEJ USA, Shannon is thrilled to in her role supporting Director Natalie Adams and the entire development team. She eagerly applies her tech and project management skills to help strengthen donor relationships, streamline communication, and grow engagement. Shannon’s heart for excellence shines through in her words: “You can’t be lazy in a ministry where God gives us a purpose and skills to steward. I like to go above and beyond and pleasantly surprise our donors.” Her creativity, diligence, and joyful spirit are already a blessing to our team.
Shannon’s love for Israel runs deep—both personally and spiritually. Her maternal grandfather cherished the land of Israel so much that he moved there in 1970, and today, Shannon has family members living there, including one serving in the Israel Defense Forces. Her first meaningful visit to Israel in the spring of 2024 was lifechanging: “I fell in love with the land and the people,” she shares. “This war is personal to me, as is Israel. But the most important thing about Israel are nine young children I love dearly in the Judean hills—they call me their ‘Grousin,’ a grandma-aged cousin.” Her experiences have deepened her appreciation for Jewish traditions and God’s covenant promises to His people.
Outside of work, Shannon radiates joy and love for life. She’s a proud “dog mom” to her pit bull, Whiplash, and enjoys sunrises at the beach, boating, barbecues, theater, and time with family and friends. Her favorite verse, Micah 6:8, captures her heart perfectly: “To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.”
