A “Game-Changing” Speech at NRB Israel Breakfast

Watch this inspiring keynote address delivered by ICEJ President Dr. Juergen Buehler at the annual Israel Breakfast during the National Religious Broadcasters (NRB) convention held in February in Nashville, Tennessee. The ICEJ-USA Branch cosponsored the traditional breakfast, which is the foremost pro-Israel event at the yearly gathering of Christian media and publishers from around the globe.

A Game-Changer for Gaza

“This war could be a game-changer for Gaza,” shared ICEJ President Dr. Buehler. He then shared an image of Dresden after the Allies utterly destroyed it in WWII. Buehler, born and raised in Germany, continued, “You may be disturbed, but this is not Gaza City. This is the city of Dresden. My father always told me, “Juergen, we have to be thankful for what America did to our nation. They brought us to our knees in order to eradicate every form of Nazism in Germany.”

Buehler continued, “I believe honestly that Gaza is on the doorstep to one of the greatest opportunities of their history. Gaza needs a Marshall Plan.” He explained it could be a new day for Gazans, and ICEJ’s prayer is that God would send 4,000 missionaries to Gaza to preach the gospel.

A Game-Changer for Israel

October 7 was also a game-changer for Israel. Reeling from the horrors of October 7, Buehler explained how Israelis have lost faith in the leadership of the IDF, even the most left-leaning Israelis have lost hope in the peace process, and the nations, initially supportive, are turning against them. The self-confident Israel we know is forever changed, but in the midst of their troubles, we are seeing a nation united and crying out to their God like never before. The synagogues are full.

A Game-Changer for the Church

In closing, Dr. Buehler admonished that October 7 needs to be a game-changer for the church as well. “It’s time for us to rise to the demands of this critical hour.” In frank speech he said, “It is not enough to say we love Israel…do not let a Sunday service pass without praying for Israel. Don’t just confess your solidarity, but become very practical. They need help to rebuild. Take an offering. Speak up. There are more Muslims on the street demonstrating against Israel than Christians standing up for Israel. Help us reverse that. Help Israel see they have friends all over the world.”
