Isaiah 62 Prayers for Israel: March 2025

“I have pursued my enemies and overtaken them; neither did I turn back again till they were destroyed.” (Psalm 18:37)

Dear Prayer Partners,

Let me first address you with a few personal words. The past seven to eight months have been a challenging season for me as I underwent back surgeries and treatments that left me with great pain and limitations. I know many of you prayed for me during this time and still do. I want to thank you so much on behalf of Vesna, myself, and our whole family. We sense the prayers and appreciate your ongoing intercession. At the moment, I remain in a wheelchair but trust God, for whom nothing is impossible, that He will raise me back up on my feet in His time.

The above passage is very dear to me. Psalm 18 teaches us much about David’s warrior nature and intimate relationship with God. In this psalm, David expresses that it was the Lord who taught him how to fight his many battles (v. 34). In all of these, God imparted an important lesson that applies to us, too, as intercessors engaged in spiritual warfare: NEVER STOP TOO EARLY!

David won many battles and understood that if Israel stopped fighting too early, the enemy would rise again and return. Therefore, when the enemy fled, he did not triumph and celebrate the victory but pursued them until they were completely destroyed.

This is also so true in a spiritual sense. As we pray for Israel in this critical war situation, we might be tempted to stop and rejoice too soon. The situation now is indeed quiet on both fronts in Israel—in the North and South. But Hezbollah still exercises fear and control over many areas of Lebanon and is as determined as ever to destroy Israel. The same is true for Hamas in Gaza.

We are at a threshold in time when much could change in Gaza, Lebanon, and even Syria. I am hearing exciting reports from friends in Lebanon—this current war crisis is drawing many to find Jesus as their Messiah, including many disillusioned Muslims. They ask for our ongoing prayers.

Our prayers are as important as Israel’s military deterrence. I ask you to keep pressing on, to keep asking, to keep knocking until we see freedom for the entire region.

What David learned about perseverance in battle mirrors Jesus’ teaching in the parable of the persistent widow, found in Luke 18. The widow received her request because she did not give up. However, Jesus also wondered how it will be in the last days: “When the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on earth?”

Let us renew our commitment to keep pressing on until we see the full breakthrough in Israel and the region.

Yours in Christ,

THE SOUTHERN FRONT

We are grateful to the Lord that more Israeli hostages held by Hamas and Islamic Jihad are finally being freed from cruel captivity in Gaza while the bodies of those killed are being returned to their families. The Hamas terror militia is seriously weakened, but it is trying to make a show of strength by coming out of hiding in full uniform, brandishing arms. They have put on sickening displays in the hostage release ceremonies that have greatly angered the Israeli public, and rightly so. With the latest hostage releases, we are approaching a time of negotiating phase two of the ceasefire and hostage release deal. We must keep praying that every last Israeli hostage will be returned, whether alive or deceased, so that their families can reunite and find closure and the whole nation can begin to heal from the deep wounds of October 7. Also, pray that Israeli leaders will make the right decisions in the talks over phase two of the agreement, including whether they need to resume the fighting to finally drive Hamas completely from Gaza. Pray that the surrounding Arab leaders will be sickened by the evil antics of Hamas and demand they leave Gaza before rebuilding can start. Pray that the Palestinian Authority (PA) will not be allowed to rule Gaza. Pray for strong support for Israel from the Trump administration. Pray that the Palestinian prisoners being released in the deal will not be able to endanger Israel. Pray that any Palestinians in Gaza who want to voluntarily leave for another country will be allowed to do so. Pray that the IDF will be able to maintain a security presence inside Gaza to protect the Israeli people from any more attacks from Gaza.

THE NORTHERN FRONT

The ceasefire in northern Israel has held so far, although it had to be extended by several weeks for the IDF to find and destroy more Hezbollah weapons, tunnels, and outposts in southern Lebanon. The extension was needed because the Lebanese army had not yet taken complete control of southern Lebanon, and the Hezbollah terror militia had not withdrawn above the Litani river, as required. Pray that Hezbollah will be forced to not only withdraw from the border area but that it would also be disarmed. Pray that Christian and Sunni Arab leaders in Lebanon will be able to sideline Hezbollah in the country’s decision-making process. Pray that the new Lebanese government also will pursue normalization of relations with Israel. Pray that the United States, France, and Sunni Arab states will work together to disband Hezbollah and free Lebanon from Iran’s destructive influence. Also, pray that the new leadership in Syria will decide to live in peace with Israel.

THE TRUMP ADMINISTRATION

Please pray that Israel and the new Trump administration will coalesce around a common agenda to strengthen Israel’s position in the region and achieve more normalization agreements with other Arab and Islamic countries, such as Saudi Arabia and Indonesia. Pray that Israel and the United States will be able to stop Iran in its tracks from developing nuclear weapons to threaten Israel. Pray that Iran will not be able to harm Israel or Jews abroad. Pray that the radical Islamic regime in Tehran will be driven from power by its own people.

THE HOME FRONT

Please pray that Israel will be able to secure a resounding victory over its enemies, recover and rebuild quickly, and actively pursue peace with its other Arab neighbors. Pray that more Israelis will be drawn to faith in God and His Messiah amid the current challenges. Pray for a fresh move of the Holy Spirit in Israel.
